When one watches the news or weather, they use touch screens. Items are resized using two hands. Items are pushed off screen by flinging them. What technology does this? Is it built into Windows 7? Can I buy a standard touch screen to do this or is there a particular touchscreen technology I need?

    Thanks

      Hi Cecil,

Check out this Microsoft MSDN article on the subject. Maybe this will help get you started.

Here is a good video too.

And here is another MS article on the Microsoft Touch Pack for Windows 7.

Hello… A while back ( few months ) i was in “Best Buy” ( Yes, looking at PC’s again ) and HP had a new touch screen PC with a large monitor Said to myself “how cool is that” then… I looked at my hands and figured …who is going to clean up that thing from all my fingerprints and cheese doodle smudges? Just a thought Regards Fred

Thanks Fred. We use several of ELO’s touch screens. Some people have cleaned them with desk cleaner. It works quite well. It cleans well into the membrane holding the 5 wire resistance “stuff.” Destroys it in 3 seconds flat!

My bosses boss wants it for conferencing. I figure the big screen with touch will be in the $15K range. I expect sticker shock will kill the project. In the mean time, thanks for letting me know what to look for.
