Patch reliability is unclear. Unless you have an immediate, pressing need to install a specific patch, don't do it. |

You can turn off the thumbnails feature:
Open Control Panel
Internet Options
Click on TABS (located in the middle of the window)
Take out the checkmark: SHOW PREVIEWS FOR INDIVIDUAL TABS IN THE TASKBAR
Click OK
Restart your computer.Fuzzmanks if you are out there.
I have that unchecked and I have the above. Should that not be gone!
Just because you don't know where you are going doesn't mean any road will get you there. -

That setting is for IE. Firefox has its own: How to Enable/Disable Tabs Taskbar Preview for IE and Firefox
But those are about multiple taskbar thumbnail previews for each browser tab as opposed to a single taskbar thumbnail preview for the current browser tab.
If you want to disable taskbar thumbnail previews completely for all programs you have to edit the registry:

AskWoody PlusDecember 11, 2016 at 9:48 am #1586613You should check out what Shawn says at TenForums about thumbnail displays.
When you hover over the icon or button on the taskbar of opened items, it will show
either thumbnail previews or a list of the opened windows or tabs for that item. The delay time value is the amount of time waiting before showing thumbnails or a
list of an opened item (ex: File Explorer) when you hover over the item’s icon on the
taskbar. This tutorial will show you how to change the delay time to wait before showing
taskbar thumbnails for your account in Windows 10.Basically setting the delay to a big number (like 10,000 milliseconds) effectively disables the thumbnail display. It worked great for me.
