I found they changed the Taskbar properties dialog and renamed the Start Menu tab to Jump Lists and removed the Power Button Action item.
    Win 7 Version:
    30336-TaskBarPropsWin7
    Win 8 Version:
    30337-TaskBarPropsWin8

That makes since because there isn’t a Start Menu in the Win 7 sense of the word any more. I am not sure where to find the jump lists. I suppose you can’t on the Taskbar in the Desktop view, only in Metro view, although I’m not sure how there either.

Jump lists still are on the desktop task bar in the same place they were on Win 7. (Right click any task bar item).

OK, gotcha. I just did not use them much.

I use jump lists for Excel and Word a lot. I will miss them when Windows apps go Metro.
