I would like to reduce it. Is there any way? (the app icons – the ones on the left)

You can’t change the “spacing” between the icons, but you can change the “width” of each icon.

Open regedit and goto…

 HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop\WindowMetrics

…and look for a key called MinWidth.

If it exist, you can change the value to make the icons smaller (range is 38 — 500)

If it doesn’t exist, create a new String Value with that name and set the value.

Note: this will not work if the “Combine taskbar buttons” option is set.

Made no difference whatsoever. I tried “-50” and “50” w/o the quotes.

Most of those metrics refer just to the desktop icons, not taskbar. Was playing with those yesterday
