We had a question come up when a client who is using a service account to schedule tasks to run through windows task scheduler. They are running in an “app win style of hide instead of a normal view of focus”, client’s wording. He wants help in determining what registry value(s) to edit so they run in “a normal view of focus”, again client’s wording.

Is there anyone who has knowledge of task scheduler and how it is controlled by the registry?

    Thanks,

    Jester

As far as I know, scheduled tasks are stored as .job files in the C:WindowsTasks folder. These files are binary, so you can’t easily edit them. I’d use the Scheduled Tasks accessory to inspect and change the settings.
