When I am using my VPN the virtual Interface (Ethernet adapter Local Area Connection 2:) appears and is used for routing the packets to this virtual link to the remote end of the VPN.
If I look at task manager (see attached screen snip it), it shows that the speed is 10 Mbps. I cannot find where to show this speed anywhere else. But a couple of days ago I was downloading a large program over the web and the task manager showed that the (Ethernet adapter Local Area Connection 2: — Description . . . : TAP-Windows Adapter V9) was flat lined at 10 Mbps. And the time it took to download my software backed the speed shown in the task manager up because because the time matched the file size and speed.
My link is a lot faster than 10 Mbps and if I remove my VOB it definitely downloads faster. So it is acting like the Windows 7 OS is limiting the speed to match the Mbps shown ni task manager. Is there some way to “configure” the TAP interface to something higher?
