Have a user trying to sync Outlook calendar in an Exchange environment and all syncs OK with the exception of an error about one of the repeating appointments or tasks… not certain which it is.

A message about “unsupported repeat pattern” is found in the log file.

Has anyone encountered this and is there a way to edit the repeating entry to eliminate?

I can’t say i’ve seen this before, but logically, the only few things I could think of that might cause it is a repeating entry that goes out to infinity, (is this possible?) or an entry that, when entered, would consume too much memory on the palm device.

Your best bet would be to reduce the ending date of the repeated entry and see if this has any effect. There might be other special settings in outlook too for repeating events, (I havn’t seen it for over a year, so I can’t quite remember) that could be causing this error.

Let us know how you fare, I would be interested to know!

      Warmest Regards,

I know we’ve come across this problem at work, with a Lotus Notes / Palm environment. As I recall, to have the repeating entries work correctly, they MUST be of a consistent pattern. For example, “repeat this entry every Monday at 10:00”.

I know it doesn’t help much, if any… but sometimes, it’s easier to make the multiple entries, than to create a crazy pattern grin.

Yes… I have had this before… The culprit was February 29 or Leap Day… I have a friend who was born on a Leap day and so his birthday in Outlook creates a repeating event that slides to 1st march on non leap days, but Palm OS protests when synchronising… Hope that helps…
