Hello guys,
Can you please advice some software for syncing Outlook 2013 with my Galaxy S7. I need two-way syncing for contacts and 2 calendars.
It would be just great if there’s something that works over the air.
Thanks!

AskWoody LoungerOctober 3, 2016 at 10:27 pm #1580280Thanks for your input Joe.
But I don’t really like using cloud for my personal information. I found Akruto and Companionlink software that work without the Cloud.
There’s a video on this page explaining how it works with Android, but I’m afraid it wouldn’t be that easy as they me to believe. Have you had any experience with any of those two? -

What does the cloud have to do with Outlook for Android? There is nothing forcing you to use any of the cloud file services. As long as you have your email through a supported mail provider you don’t need the cloud.

AskWoody LoungerOctober 21, 2016 at 7:07 pm #1582285Hi JoeP517.
Microsoft’s application called Outlook for Android does not have much functionality, especially for contacts and calendar. They are updating it almost weekly, but it isn’t ready for prime time. I have had three lengthy support calls/chats with MS Support to verify that it doesn’t have anywhere near the desktop client’s abilities.I have concluded that I need to use a 3rd party app or slip into the world of Google…
I hope that helps.Who is John Galt?

AskWoody LoungerOctober 4, 2016 at 5:44 am #1580295Navarra – when I was still on Android, I used Android-Sync to keep my phone synced with Outlook 2010. Oh, yes, and the syncing is done over a USB cable, which you say is one of your requirements. Also, you don’t have to mess with a Google account.
It worked, though I don’t think it was wonderful, and I never felt that Android-Sync were very responsive when I had problems. Only recently have they taken to saying on their website who they are; i.e. you were sending your money into a bit of a black hole.
However, I reviewed all the available options (this was about three years ago), and Android-Sync came out best of a not very impressive bunch, and this included some real duds.
Now, I’m on an iPhone, and much more impressed with the iCloud interface with Outlook 2010. Don’t think that I’ll be back to Android after converting two years ago.

I have been using Akruto with my S7 and Outlook 2013 for about 6 months and like it a lot. I only use it to sync my calendar, not my mail or contacts. It works well using my wireless router. My only issue is that it does not update automatically, although the manual update process is very easy and quick.
good luck,

AskWoody LoungerOctober 6, 2016 at 8:15 am #1580471I use CompanionLink for this purpose.
https://www.companionlink.com/
It isn’t free (not expensive) but is very well supported, is regularly updated as necessary and – for me – has toiled away faultlessly for years.

Thanks! You didn’t specify your Android calendar and contact apps. Other commenters generally assume you’re using Outlook on Android. I don’t, and I have been very happy with MyPhoneExplorer (free, but I urge you to donate if you like it). The PC program and Android app connect to each other to sync my Outlook 2013 on my computer with my Business Calendar app in both directions on my Galaxy S7 (and previous phones) . It works over Bluetooth so I don’t even need to plug my phone into the computer. It’s not updated often, and the interface isn’t gorgeous, but works reliably and effectively. You can sync any Outlook module (calendar, contacts, email, tasks, etc.). You can also use it to transfer files. HTH.

I also happily use MyPhoneExplorer. It can sync contacts, multiple calendars, and can download texts, call logs, etc. It works with Bluetooth, USB and wireless. I found the last easiest.
In my case, I use it for Android and Thunderbird. I wrote that variation up here, with a few tips.

Thanks!I use Deja Office in conjunction with Companion Link. Very versatile. Syncs all the Outlook files __contacts, calendar, notes, etc. can sync both ways. Can delete files in destination folder before syncing. Used it for years. Great program.

Thanks!I have used gSyncit for several years with success. It is not over the air but over the Internet. It syncs to Google, not directly to the phone. If the S7 syncs calendars and contacts with Google, this might meet your need.
It is a bit complex to setup but works well once it is. It runs as an Outlook Add-in. The thing I like the best is that it will sync as often as you like. I have it set to sync whenever I change a contact or calendar item, delayed by 5 minutes. You can also sync at start-up, shutdown, on a schedule, with any delay after a change that you want, or manually only. It is not free but very reasonable for what it does. http://www.fieldstonsoftware.com/ I run it on Outlook 2016, Office 365, Windows 10.Oh, and the developer is pretty responsive to problems and questions.
