• Swapping the Main Drive?

Are there any good tutorials on the web (or can someone here explain it in layman’s terms) for replacing an existing hard drive with a new one; & upgrading the Operating System at the same time? I have a Dell Dimension 700, on which I do a lot of work with digital audio (I added a second drive about 3 months ago, expressly for audio files.) My main drive, which contains the OS (Win98SE) & all the apps, has gotten slow & noisy. I want to swap it for a new larger one; & at the same time install (clean) WinXP. I’m not sure about the sequence of events. I know how to back-up files, folders & downloaded apps; & how to physically install the drive, but I don’t know how to ghost the new drive (or if I’d need to); & I’m not sure how to deal with the BIOS or exactly how & when to load the new OS. Thanks.
