AskWoody PlusJuly 13, 2018 at 5:54 pm #203411Bought a vehicle today. Three-hour process (bought it online, and I’m five hours from home, after a night in hotel). Wrapping it up is the finance guy, who even with an all-cash sale has to put a lot of paperwork in front of me to be signed. Midway through, I commented quietly about how we’ve been expecting the paperless society for a long time now (20 years?).
Triumphantly he points to some stuff on the floor behind his desk, still in the boxes, which will do away with paper soon. The “Surface” device is prominently mentioned. I get the feeling that he doesn’t really understand how all this will work, but, hey, he’s just the finance guy responsible for getting the customer to actually write the check.
