    surface 1 won’t wake up

      Try forcing a shutdown and restart: Hold the power button in for about 10 seconds, till the Surface powers down, then press the power button to restart it.

      Once you are back in Windows, go into your power settings and disable automatic sleep and hibernation. After doing that, if you want the computer to sleep or hibernate, you can tell it to; but you don’t want it happening automatically.
