Hello…
I am running Windows 2003 on a computer which is connected to a router which is then connected to a cable modem (Comcast). I’ve always had a good connection… until this morning. I booted up, and the computer decided it wasn’t going to connect to the internet anymore. I have two other computers on the network, one running XP Pro and the other running Win 2k3, both of which have no problems connecting.
When I open the Command prompt and run ipconfig, it says that the IP address is 169.254.67.65 and the subnet mask is 255.255.0.0. There USED to be a listing for Connection-Specific DNS Suffix and Default Gateway, but now they are blank. The other two computers still show the appropriate information (the Default Gateway is 192.168.1.1, which is the address of the router).
If it helps any, the router is a Linksys BEFR41 V.2 4-port router. Also, I have tried ipconfig/release and ipconfig/renew to no avail (the latter reveals an error message that the DHCP server cannot be reached).
Any help would be TREMENDOUSLY appreciated. Thanks!!
