Can anyone tell me if it is possible to use different text formatting in a textbox string in a report. The text box is used to display the following “total score of 381 out of a maximum of 500” this is a concatenated string the ‘381’ taken from a field. I would like the ‘381’ and the ‘500’ to be formatted in Bold type.

Access text boxes are plain text, which means the whole thing is in the same font.

To do what you want you need to use Rich Text Controls, but Microsoft doesn’t allow its use in MS Office any more for security reasons.

There are also some third party versions, but they are a lot of trouble, and there are restrictions on how you can use them.

So how important is the bit of bold text?

An alternative would be to use a text box and three labels. First a label whose caption is “total score of”. Then a text box displaying the score in bold text. Next to it, a label whose caption reads “out of a maximum of”, and finally a label with bold caption “500”.
