you will need a lot of time and nerves to follow. its about two open pcs(for free access) GA-7N400Pro2 and Asrock aLiveDual eSata2.
I have multiple copies of them and bought even more. will post the link which confirmed that capacitors of low quality reached MOBO-builder around 2004.
instead of 10000 hours they were dying at around 5000 or similar.
I could revive both pcs but “killed” the latter with bad behavior.
yes i made some serious mistake related or non-realated to easy access since everything is free open.
On sysopt i opened new threads about reviving and findings. firefox-problems-crashes, slow facebook and script_problems.
actually have only GA-7N400 Pro2 running and with internet-access(speedy connection) ITS NON SSE2-processor-MOBO. So the following may only refer to these.
1. could update to Firefox 48.02 and videos would run also in Facebook. but there were constant Firefox-crashes. i interrupted reportings to firefox. its was much later when i allowed tha Firefox led me to a site telling that latest must be Firefox 45.3.0 ESR. I still have Firefox-crashes from time to time but very seldom i could even open a lot of windows.
i have two working harddrives. one has some issues. non-important at the moment.
2. as antivirus clamwin is the only one which i could install. i am avoiding clam sentinel since it will produce false positives which i dont want to handle(too much work).
I am currently still running MS security essentials(no updates since years!) only live-protection and is finding nothing.
3. there is a workaround for a working Malwarebytes-version. link will follow. its in malwarebytes-forum about non-sse2-processor-pcs.
4. as last scan i am always running Sophos Virus removal tool.
Running TFC all the time
Scans:
a) Clamwin or MS Security Essentials if the yet installed.
b) Malwarebytes special version (SSE2-processor-pcs need a different version)
c) adwcleaner(read what must be checked in settings
d) JRT
e) Sophos Virus Removal tool.
cannot install any antiransom tool. maybe you have a tip. it seems i have a special problem on this hdrive.
READ: was struggling reinstalling SP3 again since i had to repair-install. system was made from SP2-CD. but have found a workaround finally. when i have found the link i will post:
b) was also struggling with winfuture update pack 3.68 of mai 2014 its german only winxp. but for win 7 etc. this pack can also run on english-versions i have found out.
there is also a hotfix for netframework(not winxp-related)
I could not run AIO-runtimes today. i used that package during winxp-installations. see sereby.org and winfuture.de german only incl. forum
Netframework. some updates(telling they are important but they are not. two i could not install. found out a blog how to handle netframework-problems.
here is the link to sysopt and the dying pcs-story.
How can we find out that capacitory are dying?
first i tried to resolder all possible contacts. also battery-holder. yes i was succesful MOBO started again.
On GA-7N400Pro 2 i could even form again the capacitor(s) which is/are holding the cmos-setup-settings when PSU is off.
but after several weeks capacitor lost its capacity. psu is now on all the time.
I do now know all possible workarounds to revive GA-7n400 Pro when not starting. some timess battery must be removed. check manual. all contacts must be clean also the ones on hdd-chip(remove the panel on the back) youtube-instructions how to clean.
