I have a Lenovo ThinkPad T14 laptop computer. It is running Windows 10 Pro 21H2 (OS Build 19044.1526). The last Feature update was installed 12/29/2021, and the last Quality update (KB5010342) 2/21/2022.

For the last several days, when I boot the computer for the first time of the day, I usually see the attached message, which appears to be trying to sell me more Microsoft services, none of which I want. I click the ‘Remind me later’ option in the lower left corner, and the message disappears. My computer then seems to run normally. I can reboot it that same day, and this message does not appear.

But when I boot it the next day, the message usually (but not always) appears.

Why did I start getting this message, and how do I get rid of it permanently?

Thanks for the rapid reply. I unchecked the setting (didn’t even realize it was checked). I’ll know tomorrow if that solved the problem.

I believe if you click next there is a screen that allows you to “skip”.  I’m guessing you either don’t have a Microsoft account, or if you do have a Microsoft account some of those services are not fully set up.

It’s not strange, it’s Microsoft trying to get you more into the Microsoft account ecosystem.

Thanks for the prompt reply. I don’t have a Microsoft account, and don’t want one.

I followed the suggestion by ‘b’, and unchecked the setting. I’ll know tomorrow if that does the trick.

I’ve gotten the same thing a few times after updates. I just click continue and usually there is a window that wants you to change your default browser to Edge which I reject and then it doesn’t come up anymore.

Don't take yourself so seriously, no one else does 🙂
