Storing Quick Tables in a docx file

I am using Word 2007. It appears you can only store Quick Tables in the building blocks or the attached dotm file. Is there any way to store it in a docx file?

If not, is there a recommendation for how to transfer items from building blocks or dotm files so that they can be used by a wide group?

I’ve not really looked at the feature before, but if you can add quick tables to a template, then that’s one way to share them. Send users the add-on template and have them put it in the Word Startup that is along their user path. Another way is to send them the table in a regular file with instructions on how to add a table to the quick table gallery (http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/word/HA101129611033.aspx). Your IT folks may have other ways.
