stop Word 2007 opening new doc in new window (Word

When I am working on a doc and open another doc for info etc Word opens it in a new window. How can I force it to open the new doc in the same window? As my old Word 97 did…

Try the following:
– Click the Office button in the upper left corner.
– Select Word Options.
– Click Advanced.
– Clear the “Show all windows in the Taskbar” check box.
– Click OK.

Then add a check mark and then OK out, and then go back in and clear the check mark. Sometimes MS products needs a swift kick.

Sorry guys – didn’t read the post from Hans properly… I read it as check it. So I’ve just cleared it and it works perfectly.

I’ve been living in France for the last five years so perhaps the the red wine has something to do with it.
