The last Patch Watch said wait for this update. Is it now safe to install or not?

Patch reliability is unclear. Unless you have an immediate, pressing need to install a specific patch, don't do it. |

AskWoody PlusOctober 22, 2015 at 2:50 pm #1534016Put KB 3088195 (MS15-111) on hold until you get an update from your anti-malware vendor.
Does this mean I must wait for a specific update from Norton and Malware bytes? If so, any hints about how to confirm that the anit-malware update addresses a potential problem with the KB 3088195?
Sorry to be so ignorant, but I am confused about what the best course of action would be. I value the Patch Watch information very much and want to use it to best preserve the integrity of my computer.

AskWoody_MVPOctober 22, 2015 at 4:55 pm #1534033Susan also keeps a public OneDrive spreadsheet that you can reference as well…
But the “Okay to install” column hasn’t been updated for six months. About as useful as the Patch Watch Master Chart (eight months).

And considering that patch info was likely a motivation for many paid subscribers it is a wonder. Maybe penton will have some positive effect on this.

AskWoody LoungerNovember 6, 2015 at 10:39 am #1536338Susan just gave the go-ahead to install KB 3088195…
http://windowssecrets.com/forums/showthread//172496-Wrapping-up-a-relatively-mild-month-of-updates
I just looked there, and there’s no mention of 3088195. Was it removed?
What’s the current status of this Update? The November updates are coming next week already and I still don’t have word on what to do with this one.
UPDATE: I see, it’s mentioned in Susan’s column though not the thread itself. For some reason I never received that week’s Windows Secrets newsletter (I did get this week’s) and so did not see the Patch Watch for that issue.
