      Mark, greetings.
You mentioned W-7 ??? Are you now on W-10 ? If so, when upgrading, it is supposed to keep all your settings except a few and the PW is one. You will have to remember your PW and input it then to go Start -> Settings -> then top right line you will see Account. Waddle your way to set a Pin and joy will be yours to enjoy.

I do not remember in W-10 that one could set the ” Do not ask ” in this regard, I have not looked for it. Edit : I went looking for it but alas ! did not find it. Somebody else will pipe up, I am sure.

      All best wishes. Jean.

The location of Pin/ Password is settings>Accounts>Sign-In Options. You can change or amend things there.
Since I use a password, I haven’t checked out the PIN settings.

        Lumpy, greetings.
You gave the right location to access the page to work/set a PW. Now, if you could only give us a way to set to : Do not ask. Some of us would like to know, after all this is the gist of this subject.

        All best wishes. Jean.

Huge fan of using pin since Win8.1. Even if you are the only one home and this is your PC, I would use some form of security. A four digit pin isn’t going to hurt you. Had to actually re-remember my password for Win10 recently (have only used pin for well over a year) since I just discovered I have an email account that I didn’t even know I had (outlook.com; pretty cool). Since I doubt I will ever use the account much, I won’t add it to my email scanner (have 3 accounts that I continually scan; can even delete messages using this cool tool). Still, you should also not forget your Win10 password since it’s the same for your onedrive as well (which I do use a little more often, but not by much). 🙂

Looks like Joe & Jerry have saved the day. I kept getting the “DataBase Error” when trying to open the lounge site this afternoon.
