    Hello,
I have another different start menu after recent updates for Windows 1809 Enterprise.
Dunno which one of these did it: KB4558997, KB4484382, or KB4484458.

Great. Its so awkward, that in Enterprise edition, for which we pay lot of lot of lot of money, they still need to advertise their products.

This new layout looks very poor and amateurish, if you want to know my opinion.

    wtf

How do the ads get in? Does the machine have internet access or only the user?
      Proxy / direct?

      cheers, Paul

Only user has the internet access. Internet access is dependent on local AD user account. User must be placed in Internet.Access group in order to access internet. No proxy server, direct internet access.

We use WSUS for dstributing Windows Updates.

Logging on as a user with no internet access should remove the ad?

          cheers, Paul

I think, it did. I logged via my admnistrator account (which has no internet access, just file servers in our domain) and no ads there.
Interestingly, I have no more ads in start menu even under my regular account with internet access. Wonder how this happened since no updates came from the last post here, was it reall ylogin with user without internet?

Thank you, but I really wish default setting is “no ads please”, since we pay money for Windows licences. This Microsoft approach is not very nice IMO, but waht can I do.
I suppose you dont want neither to search the registry and change something with every update.. it is simply not desirable.
