    Hello,

Is it true that “Start is back” is harmful to either Win8.1 or Win10?

    I appreciate your comments.

    Regards,
    Flores

      Flores,

I used it on Win 8.1 Pro and had an excellent experience with it. I switched to Classic Shell when it initially had a problem with Win 10 so I don’t know how it works with W10 since I’ve been happy with Classic Shell. HTH

        Hello Retired Geek,

Thanks for your opinion. I will try Classic Shell, based on your experience.

FWIW I’ve been using StartIsBack since Windows 8 and have had absolutely no issues whatsoever.

For Windows 10 it is StartIsBack++, and I’m on version 1.3.4. It’s on both sides of my dual boot on my desktop and one side of my dual boot on my laptop.

Always create a fresh drive image before making system changes/Windows updates; you may need to start over!

The OP had a question about it, so apparently he is interested in trying it out. We therefore did our best to answer his question.

I’ve been using Start10 for some time now. Works great. Reliable. Gives me the option of a familiar Windows 7 interface although there are other options.
