Not so much of a favourite utility, as I haven’t tried it (see my sig) but, I came across this the other day.

Ever wanted to check over or change the W10 privacy settings without wading through all the MS settings pages or GP settings?
Then perhaps this tiny privacy app for Windows 10, ‘Spydish’ from mirinsoft would be of help?

    https://www.mirinsoft.com/blog/19-apps/33-check-your-privacy-state-with-spydish

It seems to be W10 existing OS privacy related functions rolled into one, easy to view and manage program. By all accounts a timesaver/ shortcut.

Mirinsoft also report that this can be used for Home editions.
(although I don’t expect some settings to stick without GP)
A stable edition is available released 13th June 2020 v0.12.3.0 32/64bit via majorgeeks

May be worth a looksee or test as the developer reports that it uses MSFT OS Functions that are already available.
On the surface there shouldn’t be any issues, should there?
I can’t imagine updates would damage it either unless MS change things drastically.

    Notes:
This is NOT the same as debot or sharpapp from mirinsoft.
Should some Antivirus solutions flag Spydish as Malicious, don’t worry it is a false positive. (from mirinsoft see link below)

Disclaimer: I have no association with mirinsoft etc..just passing on a timesaving discovery. 🙂

Using OO-Windows-shutup in the standard settings with some “orange opions” enabled leaves me wih a Spydish where setting options to use, they have gone back to the original setting when Spydish is restarted…. Thats weird to me

I actually liked the concept of bringing together all the OS switches into one easy to use interface. Although, reading some feedback, it doesn’t seem to work properly yet as some settings are not enforced on system reboot..give it time it’s a beta 🙂

It would probably be better to segregate the 3rd party PS tweaks into another app IMO

Perhaps it’s build by the guys who make the Windows Updates? 🤣

It is developed my Mirinsoft the developers of the excellent Debotnet, sharpapp, burnbytes (disk cleanup clone)…

Yes, I read it. Just a sick joke. It’s more likely that Windows Defender has changed the permission to set other flags in the registry. Time will soon tell, I hope.

Looks like the developer has separated Spydish from the bloatware removal function,
as per my thoughts in ahem.. #2272528

      Spydish >> privatezilla

Privatezilla integrates the most critical Windows 10 privacy settings and allows you to quickly perform a privacy check against these settings. Active settings are marked with the status “Configured” and indicates that your privacy is protected. The inactive ones are declared as “Not configured”. All available settings (currently 60) can be enabled as well as disabled…

It’s cool.  I wish there was a way to block all the telemetry with the firewall rules and still be able to log in to office365 but that seems to block it.  I could make a script to switch it and shortcut on the desktop for logging in and out but that sounds like a lot of effort for band aid style fix.
