See attached sample, please. Shading sorts with the appropriate cell, but the diagonal line stays with whatever cell has that formatting? Is there a way around this?
Thanks again

I don’t think there is a way around it. The borders, even though they are properties of the range, are not always unique to the cell (though the diagonal is). A top border on a cell also adds the bottom border to the cell above.
I presume the logic to how the borders would sort (is it the bottom to row 1 or the top of row 2 or is it both), was too much for the programmers so the borders objects are not included.
The color and much of teh other formatting is unique to the cell (it does not affect any of the other cells) so this can be sorted without decisions on where the properly belongs
