Some Feature to Share (Excel 2003)

I was recently asked if there is there a way or in Excel a feature to bring focus back to worksheet
without using the mouse from the Find / Replace dialog box?

I have explore and have discovered that by pressing the Alt and F6 key together while in the dialog box
will do this. From there, you can do your stuffs and pressing the same or Ctrl and F will bring you back to the
Find / Replace dialog box.
However, its does not work with other dialog box and I have no answer to that.
Maybe some one will provide an answer to this

Most dialogs in Excel are modal, i.e. the user must close the dialog before being able to work with cells again.
The Find and Replace dialogs are the only modeless dialogs, as far as I know (where the user can work with cells while the dialog remains open). One can click in a cell to select it. Alt+F6 not only switches from the dialog to the worksheet, but also back from the worksheet to the dialog.

Further to Hans’ post; I have found that the Esc key returns focus to the Excel application from all dialog boxes that i have come across. Subsequently entering Ctrl+F will display the Find dialog box complete with the “Find” text that was previously input by the user.

Esc key is different from what I want to share or discovered. It’s does bring the focus back to the worksheet but
not having the dialog box visable….. although not so much of a different.

I noticed that the Alt+F6 key does not work in Excel 2007. I tried many other combinations without success too. Not too sure if there is a combination to get back.

PS: Don, escape is the global key to escape out of any dialog for any application. If I do this in 2007, then it escapes to the application, but still retains the previous find entry.
