I know that we have had this discussion in the past but I was wondering what the latest versions of software were around, who was using them, and what they think of them.

I have a number of movie files created using Windows Movie Maker. I want to put them together on to the one DVD and create a menu for it so I can insert it in my DVD player and watch it via my telly.

I have used Nero in the past and have been reasonably happy with it although later versions do not seem to include the authoring functions as part of the giveaway software with a new PC.

But I would always prefer to use free software if possible.

    Any ideas, suggestions?

I’ve said this before, and I’ll say it again. Check out my previous post: post 566631 for my comments on MemoriesOnTV. Not free, but you do get for what you pay for in video manipulation. Very satisfied user.

        Thanks Bob,

I did see that thread before I posted my query. It dates from 2006 and I thought that by now there may be other software available as well.

      Hi Johanna

I personally like DVD Flick. It’s free and it’s given me faithful reproduction WITHOUT reauthoring the whole censored DVD and then asking me to find the points where I want to delineate chapters.

        Hi Joe,

How remiss of me to assume that you would know that the operating system is Windows XP?
