Snap to Grid bug?

Is there a snap to grid bug with Access 2000 Reports?
I need a field to have the Top property set to 1.3083″. Once I click out of the “Top” field it automaticaly changes to 1.3076″.

I checked to see if “Snap to Grid” is turned off in Format memu. Is there someting else I should check?

Why do you need positioning accurate to less than a thousandth of an inch?

If I’m not mistaken, positions in forms and reports are stored internally in integer numbers of “twips” (multiples of 1/1440 of an inch). That would explain why the value seems to change slightly, in order to make it an integer number of twips.

I am printing on an perforated adhesive form. My fields need to line up with the perforations, so that when the label is peeled off all the data is on the label and none is left behind on the form. Can I convert over to twips. Would that allow for more precision? Is it possible to convert what I have now without re-creating the entire form?
I ask because my data prints 8 labels on each form. Within each label there are 65 fields that are populated. It would be a lot of work to reproduce.

If you’re packing your label that tight, it’s going to be a problem for you regardless. In my experience, there is some creep on labels when you use Access. I think it probably has to do with the difference between on-the-fly formatting, which is what Access does, versus the way a program like Word formats and sends a page to the printer. And by the way, I’ve seen label creep in Word labels too, so the printer may be part of the problem.

I don’t consider this a bug unless you believe that anything that doesn’t work the way you want it to is a bug. In that case, I’ve never seen a commercial program from any software publisher that wasn’t loaded with bugs!
