    Hi,
Sending mail through SMTP-services takes a minute or more on all pc’s in our network.
Doesn’t matter which mailprogram we use.
Using the same SMTP-server of the ISP in another network, works like a charm.
So it has to be inside. Other network traffic is at normal speed. Also receiving mail through POP.
    Any suggestions?

Check out some of the threads at slow smtp connectivity – Google Search. Name resolution seems to be an issue that surfaces frequently.

Yeah, well pick one or more that seems close and look at them. It is very unlikely that you are going to find a definitive answer without a little legwork on your own. Try to modify the search to narrow it down. With networking issues unless you happen to stumble on a solution immediately you almost always have to check one thing, eliminate it, then check somethin else.

At times this will happen when there is a issue or two between your ISP and the “Backbone” service. For a long time I had this slowness to the point that Outlook timed out and/or could NOT download an file and attachment over half a MEG. I screamed to my ISP and they said it was the backbone, after months of this it just up and cleared up. I did however send emails to the support people to my cable ISP, my email hosting ISP and the backbone people almost weekly.
