Yes they are and I have check to make sure that they are enabled in the various documents that I have messed around with.

In playing around, I did see one… when I selected some text and pressed Ctrl+C I got a clipboard icon, and was able to click it and it provided the options paste with formatting, without, etc. However, that was the only one I’ve seen thus far after 4 days of pretty intense exposure.

they need enabled in tools > autocorrect. then you need to have things in the docs that the tags look for. the ones included with office are for names and phone numbers.

you can create your own, using the smart tag sdk. there is a web site dedicated to smart tags. smart tags

I have loaded the Office XP Preview on my machine at home. I am running Windows 2000 SP1. I have been playing around with Word for a couple days now and I just don’t find any evidence of the smart tags feature working at all. I have seen it in action in Excel but not Word. I have played around with the settings and with different length documents. I have opened previously created documents as well as created new ones from scratch. Am I missing something here? Word 2002 help is no help either.

      Anyone have suggestions?
