• Smart Options/autofill (Excel XP)

    A friend of mine need urgent help. He installed Office XP and in Excel next to the cursur the smart options appears(autofill) and it irratates him to bits. Where do you put the feature off.

      Tools > Options > “Error Checking” Tab – there are several options that can be unchecked. I think this does it.

      Tools | AutoCorrect Options… | Smart Tags (tab)

      uncheck “Label data with Smart tags”

      Tools>Options>Edit tab…
      Uncheck “Show Paste Options Buttons” will take care of the problem you described.

      Also uncheck “Show Insert Options Buttons” if that action button bothers you.
