Slugs in my House

Window Secrets has helped me for many years with computing my problems. Now for something completely different.
Help slugs are getting into my house is this happening to anyone else? They are 2.5 – 3 inches long, grey with black dots.

Sprinle around the perimiter of the likley entry points. Alternatively use commercial slug/snail garden pellets to kill the blighters. HTH

When we had slugs last year, it was obvious from the trails in the kitchen which opens from the back garden. They hid under the washing machine until dusk, then wandered round the kitchen. They didn’t come out if I left the kitchen light on.

So my strategy was: leave the light off, go through just after sunset and examine the kickboards of the kitchen units. Then I caught them and threw them in the bin. (there only turned out to be two of them, otherwise the job would have been harder.)

And I didn’t tell the wife.

Slugs, like snails, can’t stand SALT. They will repel from it. Sprinkle a little salt on one and see what I mean.
Just make a little trail of salt where you don’t want them to pass, and they won’t.

As for the fuzzies in the attic, I’d live-trap them and take them several miles away and turn them loose in the woods.
That’s where they should be anyway.

Well Dr. What, I have trapped a few but taking them a few miles away doesn’t work.Besides, I live in the woods!

Once they miss the live trap they rarely go back to it..
I use a big rat trap with peanut butter and that gets them..

I only get them occasional.
Matter of fact, the other day I noticed a hole where they chewed through the wood to get in…
