I am trying to set my presentation up to work when I convert it to an mpg. On the majority of my slides I have anywhere from 3 to 6 sentences that use the following custom animation: after previous, fly in from bottom, fast. The problem that I had initially was when I used automatic timings is that when the new slide opened the sentences would roll right up on the slide one right after the other. Then the slide would wait the given number of seconds and switch to the next one. So I found that I could delay the entrances so that each sentence was 5 seconds after the previous and I thought that was just great. That created another problem though, one I can’t figure out how to fix. What happens now is that just as soon as the bottom sentence flies in the next slide comes up so you can’t see what that last sentence said. I hope I made myself clear here but if not please feel free to ask any questions. I hope one of the gurus here can help me!

      Paul,

You could add an object (say a rectangle) and give it a ‘custom animation’ of ‘appear’. Then set the ‘timing’ to ‘automatically appear X seconds’ after the previous object.

Then drag your rectangle of the ‘slide area’.

That workaround would mean that your last bullet would appear…. then after X seconds the rectangle would appear (not visible, as you’ve dragged it off the slide)…giving the viewer time to read the last sentance.

      Cheers

That was a great suggestion and it worked beautifully. Since all of my slides have a black background I just created a small black jpg, inserted into the slides and put a custom animation on it as you said. Thanks for the reply!
