When I right click on a document outside of Outlook and select Send to the window that opens up is much smaller than usual. After that when I select New Mail in Outlook the window is again that small. How can I set a size for the window that will make Outlook always use that size? Thanks in advance.

Try setting up a Send To, enlarging the window, but cancelling out of it by pressing Ctrl and simultaneously clicking on the top right hand X. The window may turn up at the larger size the next time after that you start Send To. HTH

Changing the window size and then cancelling did not work. Since I first posted (earlier today) I was given a new laptop. The old one had Windows 2000 and the new one is XP, but the problem remains.

I have the same problem with Outlook 2000. I have tried shift-dragging the borders and also right-clicking the tiltle bar, selecting Size and resizing the window, but neither of these efforts stuck. (And in each case I actually sent the attachment, to myself.) So I’ll be watching for a solution.

I think this is normal for MAPI, the chunk of code called when you use Windows’ “generic” mail features. Perhaps it dates from the time when PC displays were no larger than 640×480? I’ve never heard of any solution, but millions of people would love to have one.

In case anyone out there is watching this post. I just got Outlook 2003 and this issue is now solved. If you adjust the window, and then cancel, Outlook remembers the window size. Also, by default the window was larger.

My Outlook has always remembered the size LAST used. If a site defines a size then it will be the LAST used. Also if you resize by dragging it is remembered, but if the “Max” button is used it MAY not remember the size.
