Seamless!
Maybe say “nailed it”? Sounds like “nailed us” would be a bad thing if it were to occur? (As in “That Windows Update sure nailed us!”) (Just being picky, I know!)
Posting not any speedier, but page loading and transitions are faster. So b is partly right, in my opinion.

Working fine in San Antonio, TX. Links in Newsletter responded fine & link to this post worked. Can’t tell a noticeable difference in speed, but no mess-ups so far…
Bought a refurbished Windows 10 64-bit, currently updated to 22H2. Have broke the AC adapter cord going to the 8.1 machine, but before that, coaxed it into charging. Need to buy new adapter if wish to continue using it.
Wild Bill Rides Again...
Note: ‘Recent replies’ panel (homepage) as anon:
The sync is delayed quite a bit, hovering over a recent reply link shows partial text of post, then when clicking newer replies, there is no post or text in the thread.
Probably look ok to signed in members. (caching?)
-microfix
When not logged in there is a problem with the caching of the Recent Replies widget, as indicated above.
But what’s more unusual than past issues with that widget is that it is not consistent on different pages within AskWoody. And the difference is about 45 minutes’ worth (identified between page 1 and page 2
Replies and visibility seem to match now.
… and could also be related to the caching issue, which @geekdom reports is now performing better.
Even seeing things in the Recent Replies widget resulted in no apparent post for something that had been posted 45 minutes ago, when not logged in. A similar situation would happen in clicking on an email notification link while not logged in, as if no post had been made. The post in question may now be visible, or would be visible if logged in?
Excellent from my wet perch in Thailand!
So far the new hosting service seems to deliver much faster URL links in the lower area of the main browsing window (using Chrome) when hovering over a link to a most current reply on the “Recently active topics” page.
That function was always sort of in slow motion to fill in the full URL to a post # on the old hosting service. That was very aggravating before, as it seemed if the link was clicked on too soon, it would fail to find the correct posting.
I get to those links (from that brown right-pointing arrow) by shift-left clicking on it so the link opens in a new Chrome window to save time when going back to Recent Topics page when I’m done reading the new posts. Just close that newly open Chrome window and the Recently active topics page is instantly there.
Those topic pages also seem to come up noticeably faster on the new server. And even really long topic pages (like over 300+ posts) seem to get to the “most recent” postings noticeably faster.
Page delivery also seems a bit faster even on my now 2+ year old Samsung Chromebook, a system with a Celeron N3050 CPU and 4GB of RAM.

Ditto from my perch in cool (weather) Bangkok.
I just tested the new setup by posting two comments, besides this one, and then editing them several times. These comments include one with a URL link. Also I have read several posted by others here and there, and all these things look good, so far.

That’s the definitive, authoritative test!
All very smooth here, probably faster.
Yes, it is faster. Noticed it right off.
Brilliant, well done!
All Kudos to Susan, the Patch Lady!
It used to be OK until the Whale got swallowed, which might or might not have been related to any of this. But at around that time, or not long afterwards, strange things like the “twitchy finger spam filter” that would kidnap one’s comment as soon as posted, started to happen. My hypothesis, offered here for what is worth, is that such weird things might have had more to do with limitations in the servers previously hosting AskWoody than with WordPress.
Just saying.

Everything works fine, except that my bearnaise sauce curdled.
Oh well, I made do with Ketchup.
Huh. Works fine already. I’m used to it taking much longer for my DNS servers to get the new IP address. Every time other sites I’ve used have done this, it’s taken at least 24 hours. I was only able to ever speed it up by using Google’s 8.8.8.8 as my nameserver, which I’ve not done on this computer. (I like to do it at my router instead, but it seems to forget DNS settings any time I have to restart it.)
Everything seems to be working properly. Clicked on links in several email follow-up notifications concerning different lounge posts and they all popped up correctly rather quickly. Next on your list Susan should be an idea I proposed to Woody a while back that he said was worthwhile. Here it is again.
I always read new posts on the web site from oldest to newest, so to switch pages I must always slide back down to the bottom of a page to get to the newest page. It would really be a time saver if the links to older/newer pages were at both the top and bottom of each page.
EDIT: Wow, this got posted lickety-split!
