Is there a way to create a shortcut key combination to a specific folder? I know there is a way to cause Windows Explorer to open to a specific folder and I guess that could work with the ‘Windows + E’ shortcut. I was wondering if there is a way to do it if you wanted to create a shortcut to a couple different folders with different keystroke combinations. I read the recent newsletter regarding customizing the Start menu but didn’t see anything that would answer this question. Thanks for any help you can provide.

This works in Windows 7.

First of all create a shortcut to the folder on your desktop (It may work in other folders but I haven’t tried that)

Right click on the newly created shortcut and select properties. There you can assign a shortcut key combo under the shortcut tab (looks like it is restricted to CTRL+ALT+key of your choice)

I tried that prior to my post. When I try open the properties dialog box, it says ‘None’ and I am unable to erase the ‘None’. However, when I just tried it, if I click on CTRL, it takes away the ‘None’ and lets me do what I wanted. Thank you very much.:rolleyes:
