Hi there,
Is there any shortcut that I can use (instead of using the mouse) for switching between two workbooks in Excel (that is instead of going to Window and clicking on the other workbooK)?
Thx in advnc.
K.

In your attachment, the shortcut keys relating to precedent & dependent cells are mixed up. I’ve always assumed that Microsoft’s choice of keys was intended to be intuitive, in that the left (backward) facing square bracket relates to precedent cells, while the right (forward) facing bracket relates to dependent cells. Additionally holding down the shift key broadens the resulting cell selection from direct dependents/precedents to all.
I would guess that you got the file from Chip Pearson’s site(?). I remember he had the same error. I sent him my own shortcut key file and he was going to update or replace his file, but I don’t know if he ever got around to it. I actually posted my file on this board a month or two ago, in response to somebody’s question regarding shortcut keys.
I can’t tell you what a great tip this is for me! I very often have two (or more) workbooks open in the same Excel and find it a pain to press Alt-W then the number of the file. My workaround was to open another instance of Excel and do the familiar Alt-Tab to switch between the two Excel applications. I hated the additional overhead of the extra app, but what’s a guy to do?
Great tip, thanks!
