I have 3 computers on my home network using a Cable router using DHCP. My main computers is running W2k, the other two W98SE.

I can access the other two computers and they can access each other; but the other two can only SEE that I am on the network, but it says that it can’t be accessed.
I’ve shared my drive and have NetBEUI installed on all three machines. All three are running ZoneAlarm and have the setting at medium.

The sharing is different I noticed in W2K too. I assume that it uses the login passwork and not a pw that is different for each directory or drive that I can tell, right?

How can I get the other two computers to access mine? I want them to share the printer to start with.

You can activate the “Guest” account on you Win2K machine or you can set up the same account names and paswords that you have on the 98 machines.

My Dad has had similar issues with an XP laptop and a 98 Desktop. Personally, it’s an issue of not having a domain running (with WINS and/or DNS). But, to fix his situation, I had to make sure all his machines were using the same ‘workgroup’ name. Then he could see everything.

Actually, Dave had the answer that worked. Both were logging into the domain, but for W2K, there is more security.

“You can activate the “Guest” account on you Win2K machine or you can set up the same account names and passwords that you have on the 98 machines.”

You must be going through some pretty old posts. I didn’t know this one was even still out there. burga

Ya, just replied to your post about WinProxy too.

I’m bored, and not energetic enough to be working on my current ‘project’! grin, so I just did a search on the list for fellow texans.
