SharePoint docs do not download to SharePoint Workspace

Using Sharepoint Workspace 2010 with Office 365. I am an administrator of our Sharepoint site, an owner of the documents library, and creator of most of the documents, including the problem documents. Most documents open without issue in Sharepoint Workspace, but a couple of them show as not having been downloaded or not having finished downloading. Those documents are not large. Sync completes successfully. For the documents that will not open, when I go to the Download menu in Sharepoint Workspace, the download option is not available. For documents that will open, that option is available. If I log into Office 365, I can open, modify, save the problem documents without issue. Am I missing something? How do I get those couple of documents downloaded so that they will open in the workspace?

Are the documents one specific type?

Can you blow away the Workspace storage and start over?
