• Setting Up Account on New Workstation

I just finished building my new workstation and am trying to get Office 365 set up properly.  I have the old Outlook *.pst file on my data drive.  However Outlook created a data file on my C drive and all the new emails are being downloaded to that spot.  I don’t want this.  I tried to change the outlook data file location in the Account section but that did not seem to do anything.  Do I have to delete the account and set it up manually to get it working correctly???

    thanks,

    Alan

      Hi agoldhammer,

If I understand you correctly, all you need to do is in Outlook classic.
Go to account settings then the Data Files Tab.
Then you can add your old pst file and you have “Set as Default”

Hope this is what you need…

I figured out the problem late last night.  Outlook automatically set up the Yahoo account for IMAP and created an OST file which is not compatible with PST.  Since this is a third party email provider and I don’t worry about synching to multiple devices, I guess I can set up a POP account which should use the old POP file.

I’m wondering what other uses do in this case.  Have most people migrated to IMAP???
