I find the default indent, tab and hyphenation area values not very useful, and it’s really annoying having to change them every time I use bullets or create a new text frame.
Is there any way to change and save the default settings?

In any one file, you can set the defaults for that file as a whole, so that, for example, every time you open a new text box in it, it defaults to your text. Check the Help file. However you can’t change defaults overall which is a pain I agree. Older versions used to have a Normal.Pub I don’t know why they scrapped it

While there is no nice “button” to do this, the following is
      the recommended avenue:

      1. Launch a blank Publication

      2. Go to Format>Text Style

      3. Select “Change this style” (Normal)

      4. Under Click to change, Customize the default fonts, lists etc.

      5. Choose OK to all the preceding dialog boxes

      6. Go to File>Save, and choose the correct Application Data Folder
      that applies to you

      For Win98 or Win95 or WinME (usually) C:WindowsApplication DataMicrosoftOfficeNormal.Pub

      For Win NT4 (usually) C:WinNTProfiles%ProfileName%Application DataMicrosoftOfficeNormal.Pub

      For Windows 2000 (usually) C:Documents and Settings%ProfileName%Application DataMicrosoftOfficeNormal.Pub

I hope this helps! If you have any futher questions, please let us know!

You can use BBCodes to format your content.
Your account can't use all available BBCodes, they will be stripped before saving.
