I have made a data base in access with the column width at 10 and alphabetized by last name. I saved it when I was done. Evrytime I open the data base I have to set it all up again. It will not stay at 10 and it won’t stay alphabetized. What am I doing wrong? Please help.

It sounds like you’re looking at a query, and queries do not hold their column width settings between uses. As far as the sorting goes, you have to save the query with the last name sort for that to persist.

Oh, I forgot, nothing you set in a query has any effect on the underlying table. So don’t expect query settings to change the way the table behaves.

Hi Charlotte,
No I’m not in a query, I’m in a table. No matter how many times I save it, I always have to reset everything. Please let me know if you have any more ideas.
