I was setting up security on my database and now cannot get in. I saved a copy on my desktop but found that the security I was setting for this database (I separated it into a folder by itself) in affecting all of my databases regardless of where the folder is. I have printouts of what I did but no combination of user/password will work.

    Any ideas?

I wonder if you’ve changed your system.mdw file. Can you get a virgin copy from someone else’s computer?

        No,

Unfortunately that was deleted. How do I recover from this??

Well, that’s probably part of the problem.
Start Access, Go to Tools, Security, Workgroup Administrator
          Choose Create
Create a without a Workgroup ID
          call the file system.mdw

WebGenii has indicated the first step. But you are like to still have troubles. How did you go about securing your database – we will need to know all the things you did? Also, did you use the Security Wizard, or did you do things manually? You might also want to look at our brief User Security Tutorial and Jack MacDonald’s User Security paper.
