Logged in here earlier today to review the Home page and to see if new Master Patch List was posted. I now have these questions:

    1. There appear to be two KBs, 4576751 and 4577266, for the 2020-09 Servicing Stack for Win10 version 1903 & later. Master Patch List advises HOLD on 4576751 but no mention of 4577266. I’m holding on the former but don’t know what to do with the latter.
    2. An article on the home page discusses KB476754, an update to new Edge. This is not listed in the Master Patch List and is not found in the Windows Update catalog. What to do?
    3. Has a recommendation been formed yet on KB4497165, Intel Microcode? Lots of traffic noted but haven’t seen go/no go. Not on the Master Patch List.

    Regards,

    D. Eager

      1.  4577266 is the SSU for v2004

Yes, I apologize for the mistake. I figured it out shortly after making the post.

Any information on the other two questions?

KB4576754 is a forced update that replaces the Legacy Edge with Chredge. See BetaNews article. Don’t think there is much choice for v1809 and later.

KB4497165 Intel Microcode – personally, I have not installed any on my machines. It is an individual choice IMHO.

Regarding microcode updates, I’ve never knowingly installed one before and have had no obvious negative effects. Therefore, unless somebody can convince me otherwise, I’ll leave this one as deferred.

The Edge KB is a mystery. Why do they assign it a KB but not include it in the Update Catalog. I’m pretty sure I downloaded and installed the update before, but it doesn’t appear either in winupdatelist or Update History? Edge reports that it is up to date with version 85.0.564.51. Anyone know if this is the Chromium version?

      Thanks!

Check the icon. Right click information should get you version #.

but it doesn’t appear either in winupdatelist or Update History?

Edge is listed in Apps & Features.
