Does any body know how to make Outlook Express (or Outlook) turn on at a specific time, send all emails then disconnect?

In Outlook 2002, when a new email is created, there is an OPTIONs button, on the Tool Bar, allowing you to set the time when message is delivered.

Sorry I don not express my self correctly. I want to automate it via VBA

outlook express does not have an exposed object model, so it can’t be automated using VBA.

That said, there are options, especially if OE is your delfault mail program. You only need to send a mailto on a command line to ‘automate’ this in OE – and you can use task scheduler to control the timing. You may need a button pusher app to send it (or use send keys).

Is the report prepared ahead of time so that access can be out of the picture?

i would use task scheduler to send the message, but i don’t know of a way to add an attachment to OE.

if you set up a SMTP server you can bypass a mailer and just send the report. WinXP includes a smtp server in iis or you can find a small free/shareware one at any download site.

              Thanks for the reply.

It could be! But how/where would I store it?

              > i would use task scheduler to send the message, …
I’ve never used task scheduler could you point me to a book/site that covers this?

              Thanks, that looks worth investigating.

To answer this query – use a batch file and task scheduler. If you can tell us specifics, we can make better suggestioins on how to do what you want to do.
