    Hi,

I’d like to filter a project to show only tasks that do not have 0 (zero) in the Work Remaining column. But I’d also like to show some summary tasks that have zero in the Work Remaining column. How can I do that?

    Thanks,
    Bob

      Bob:

I’m a little confused re. what you are trying to do – your two criteria seem to be contradictory.

The Work Remaining for a summary task is calculated as the cumulative Work Remaining for all of its sub tasks, so if at least one sub task has any Work Remaining, its Summary will also.

Perhaps you have some other criteria for which Summaries you wish to show – you say ‘ . . . some summary tasks. . . “?

Anyway, to create a customised filter, go to Project>Filtered for>More Filters>New and set your criteria.

      Tony.

      Hi,

      Try using a custom filter
Select from the menu bar Project, Filtered for, More filters
      Click the New command button
      Give the filter a name
      In the criteria section:
      And/or Field Name Test Value(s)
      summary equals yes
or Remaining Word is greater than 0h

      Click OK
      Click Apply

See the attached Word document if you need a screen capture of the dialog box.
If this does not do what you need post back and I will look at it again.
