If the database is set up for passwords and the reader only group has just one user ID and password, can two users of this group be looking at the database at the same time?

To get two users in a group to access the database at the same time you would need to have two users set up in the group and make sure the database is not set up to open exclusively.

Is your question really can two different people log into the database as the same user in a group at the same time?

The short answer is yes – in an un-secured database everyone is logging in as admin. You may however encounter some difficulties if users are all connecting to a single networked system.mdw file from a locking perspective on that file. We don’t recommend that approach and always try to deploy the security file to the local hard drive.
