As a newbie still trying to find my way around, I do hope it is okay to post this here and I don’t get told off by the Moderators. Please excuse me if I’ve done the wrong thing

I’d like to wish everybody on the forum a very Happy Christmas and a peaceful and healthy New Year.

ps: I’ve put replies in a few posts but the posts under my name still shows as “0” – have I got to configure something? Help please with idiot-proof answers.

I’m positive you’re in no “danger” from the Mods for posting, here or elsewhere! Welcome to The Lounge…

And a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year back at ya!

If I’m not missing any, I did a search for your posts and they’re all here in Scuttlebutt which doesn’t increase your post count.

Posts in the “Test Area”, “Scuttlebutt” and “Puzzles” forums don’t increase your post count as shown under your name on the left hand side of posts, but if you look at Lyndy61 – Profile, you’ll see that the posts do get counted there.

I think his doggie is actually a reindeer.

I don’t remember where I got it but no, it IS a doggie photoshopped with antlers. Merry Christmas…

Thanks for your sentiments, guys, and also for the answer to my query. I’m not actually worried about showing a post count because I’m not here to see how many posts I can reach – it’s just reassuring to know I’ve not messed up with the configuring side of things. (still haven’t got a photo of the right size to put in yet – I did try, honestly, but they were all too big! A project to investigate at some later stage )

Now, I just had to log on…

A Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you. And as Al said, welcome.

I’m sure there is a button somewhere to adjust the post count; Hans has to use that sometimes to decrease his post count, to not break the software.

I stand corrected. As the original file would indicate – it is indeed a doggie.

Well I’m a newbie too, just thought I’d say Hi, and a Merry Christmas to one and all. I never knew this forum existed , just found out by e-mail from Windows secrets, some of you have been here 6 years ! It was a secret wasn’t it ?

      • #1193654

Welcome, and best wishes to you too!

Woody’s Lounge, as this discussion forum was named until mid November, has existed since the mid 1990s. It used to be advertised in the newsletter that Woody Leonhard (now a staff member of Windows Secrets) published at that time, and got most of its members through that newsletter.

Woody’s Lounge disappeared and reappeared a couple of times, so the earliest posts and members you’ll find here date from December 2000, nine years ago. But some members who are still active were already involved in earlier incarnations of the Lounge in the 1990s…

    • #1193655

Thanks for your reply and welcome , HansV. I did get all Woodys newsletters in the late 90’s and early noughties, but I confess I didn’t always read them thoroughly and obviously missed any references to a forum, so I failed the observation test. I’m glad to be here now.

      Thank you.

I would also like to wish you and others a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
