SearchProtect: How to deep-six this annoyance

Yesterday a 2 x 3 message parked itself on my screen.

Search Protect
We have improved Search Protect’s browser protection!
Search Protect has detected that your browser …

It wishes to change my home page and default searches.

Then an option
No Thanks or Apply

Seems to be persistent. Yesterday to eliminate it I used a forced reload.
It appeared again this morning.

The question is how to deep 6 this annoyance.

I did another forced reset this morning then checked back.

Unloaded the program and also reset Firefox.

Hope that does it.

AdwCleaner is the program of choice to remove Conduit and other PUPs.

Any time I see a new program with the word “search” or “research” I know it’s not good.
