I am trying to search for text inside hundreds of test files, but keep getting “no items match your search”, even when I chose a work that would be in every file. I have the File Contents selected under Advance Options.

This is a Windows 2012 R2 Server (I know this is the Windows 8 forum, but there is no specific 2012 forum and 2012 is in the same family).

    Ideas?

Works in Windows 8 (don’t have a 2012 server) by placing this in the search box of Windows Explorer: *.txt contents:mytext
This assumes you have read permission for the files.

      cheers, Paul
