If we know a particular post number, ho do we go about finding it? I’ve tried using the search box along the right-side column with no luck. Could it be that the post I’m searching for has been deleted due to it’s or a thread’s obsolescence, or am I not using the proper syntax when using the search box? All I’ve been entering is the post’s actual number in the search box.

Put this in the browser address bar.https[://]www.askwoody.com/forums/reply/nnnnnnn/
Remove the “[” and “]” from around the “://” – Replace the “nnnnnnn” with the Reply number.

AskWoody MVPDecember 13, 2020 at 3:47 pm #2319261Thanks for the reply, PK, but I just noticed a typo in my initial post and, obviously, can’t edit it. In the first line, it reads “…ho do we go about finding it?…”. Can you please add a “w” to the “ho” to make it read “how” instead of “ho and then delete this post as well?
Thanks, and sorry to be a bother!

AskWoody MVPDecember 13, 2020 at 3:42 pm #2319257Thanks for the additional info, Paul, but when I’m searching for a post on this site and I know the number, I’d rather just keep the search “in house”.
However, Google is a great source to use if you are searching for stuff from a particular site and don’t know any more specifics than a string of text or the subject of the post, so using your technique isn’t at all without merit!
