each time I do a search in XP the view is “Tiles”. Is there a way to change the default vie to “Details”?
Thanks in advance for your time.

Sorry Ed, that doesn’t work on my system and I don’t know that there IS a way to do it via Search.
What you described sets Windows Explorer’s view to whatever you choose and set for all folders. However, that only works when browsing through FOLDERS with Win Explorer. As soon as you choose to search, the view “might” change depending on the type of file you’re searching, such as graphics files.
I have my Explorer set to the method you described, but if I search for .PNG or some other, I get thumbnails (tiles?) and I don’t know how to change that. There may be a registry modification but I’m not aware of one.

Just played around with what you say, I must have been lucky in the past.
I agree totally with what you say however, cannot understand why though.
